it’s no earthly good to me
On the road today, and thinking of Gordon Lightfoot.
Earlier this week, Kevin Church linked to a rather no-nonsense tutorial on Photojojo. In their archives, there were links to a couple of online publishers; Issuu was one of them.
I like the intuitive interface, and the portablility, I like being able to subscribe to RSS publications. I like that work can apparently be any length. I like the full screen options, and the embedding tool. I can imagine that certain, if not all comics suitable for print would also work well with Issuu.
But I doubt I’d ever use it. More and more, I’m tiring of the free ‘net… certainly as a producer of goods (since “web-as-loss-leader-for-print” has not made much difference to our sales), but also as a casual consumer. I hear tales of people turning their backs on the virtual world and never returning. Can it really be?
